HostGator isn't free web hosting like Trap17. But it is pretty affordable. And I have had multiple web servers hosted there. So I figured I'd post my review of them.
First off, their prices are fair. I liked the Baby plan as it fit my needs perfectly and there was (maybe still is?) a 1 cent coupon code for you're first month! The CPanel if fantastic. Fantastico in the CPanel really meets a lot of needs. You have a lot of control over a lot of different things, and it's easy. The support with HostGator is great, I can always talk to them live with the chat feature. I've only had small problems in the past; for example, I couldn't get a script to run on it because of some PHP settings that I couldn't change. But 99.9% of shared hosting wouldn't let you go changing PHP settings, would they? So no biggie I've never done a Dedicated Server or Reseller Hosting so I don't know about those. Overall, though I recommend HostGator for you're paid hosting needs. I' give it a 9/10. |

Last year I was looking into becoming a reseller and my choice was to go with Host Gator. I never was able to get started but it had nothing to do with the host just deciding it wasn't worth the time and money and I had to make sure I could get things taken care of all the time and with school that wouldn't work. I have heard many good things about them which was partly why I was going to go with them. Today though I'd have to go with ComputingHost
