I'm planning to start an Alumni website for my college mates, I searched for any Alumni CMS but couldn't find one. So If anyone of you know any Alumni or Community CMS, please share it with me.
I need a community CMS where each member Can have his own page, and somewhat related to orkut. If there is any add-on MODs for Joomla or Mambo please do share them too. |

maybe this open-source full-featured friendster/myspace/orkut-like script can help you: http://www.phpizabi.net/
it's highly-scalable and modular (just like joomla, etc.) so you can easily customize it according to your alumni site requirements. i'm quite sure these following built-in features will be useful for your plans on your site: QUOTE Generic Features * Smileys support * Multilanguage support * Registration captcha * Mass mail support * Pictures cropping / proportions * Tell a friend * Invite a friend * Search and advanced search * Search by geographic distance * Contact us system * Bookmark link * Privacy and terms of use * Match search based on profile * Online / Offline status * Activity notification * Customizable genders Users and Profiles * Customizable profile data * Customizable questionnaires * Email address confirmation * Automatic / Manual approval * Unique address check * Online status * Personal Gallery * Personal Blog * User settings panel * Ignore / Block users * New contacts notification * New mails notification * Favorite blogs * Recent profile views * Contacts list * Contacts categorization * Contacts management * Newsletter * Horoscope * Last login * Profile / pictures rating * Profile views * Private photo gallery * Nudges (kisses, slaps, ...) * Users comments * Events calendar * Personal events * Saved searches Communication * Blogs * Internal messages system * Pages (notifications) * Forums (inkspot) * Chatrooms * Files sharing extensive enough? |

hey!
phpizabi is great, but joomla can be better too. there's a component called Community builder that can do the same, and the enhanced version can do even better (like friendster). Since its part of joomla you can enjoy its power while extending it like phpizabi. |

serverph that was great Hey.. Delivi.... I am also in the same track..making an almuni site. I heard about Phpizabi and testing with it and it is damn good at first look. But I am a bit worried about the budget about the almuni site?Do you have any idea about cost of hosting say for 2000 user database? |
