Hi, everybody, I recently finished a harry potter roleplay site of mine that's a subdomain on my main site (thenr.net) the url of my harry potter site is http://morsmorde.thenr.net
We currently have 8 members, but are hoping to grow quickly, and we're looking for experienced, seasoned roleplayers. Many main characters are still free, the site is also all canon, one of very few all canon sites on the web. - we're in dire need of members to get the fun starting - Anyway, check it out and tell me what you think! (I'm Cedric Diggory on the site). Thanks! |

mmmm well i guess the thread/forum catagories are well thought out, and you have obviously planned this out quite well.
The Forum program you choose fits the job fine, and the template you used looks ok, if not a bit dark. My only main criticism is the lack of your own style into the actual appearence of the site. yes you have a banner at the top but the style doesn't fit the rest of the forum. Maybe thats all too come, but try and make it all look the same. and maybe a more harry potter related style if it gets really popular? mmmmmm like some bricks, textured paper, something like that kinda and whats a canon site? i tried to search, but only came up with the camera company |

I like the template. It looks pretty nice, the header is neat, and phpBB is the win.
However, unless you can get quite a few members roleplaying, there won't be much to do, since roleplay is such an interaction-necessary theme. This post has been edited by Cerebral Stasis: Jul 20 2006, 08:19 AM |

I like the banner and the colors, the only thing is that I don't think it really fits in with the rest of the red on the forums. Sure red and green could go together but I don't think they do in this case. Other then that it is pretty nice. Good job. I think if you make a little affiliation system at the bottom you could probably get going faster. Good luck.

As mentioned, the red and green on the banner don't fit well. But, if you could incorporate the green in the rest of the template, then it would kind of 'fit into place' and not leave a sense of separation between the forum banner and the rest of it.
Secondly, too many forums with not enough members makes it look more empty than always. I'm not sure if you could do this, but reduce the number of forums and keep only the ones that are crucial, and then as the members increase, you could gradually increase the number of forums. I think the locked forums are of no use and should'nt be visible if not removed for now, and when you need them, you could incorporate them as a part of the site. Now, I would only lock a forum if it already had posts in it and could be useful for a read, but because you don't have any posts you should probably hide it and re-open on the 1st of September (as mentioned) and let the members know through other methods (like announcements, etc.) |

Alrighty, thanks for the reviews everyone! I'll look into the link colors, I was wondering whether I should change the banner to a red base and keep the links, or whether I should change the links to a green base and keep the banner the same. Which one do you guys think is better?
I've been looking for members, don't know where to find members for a harry potter roleplay site, anybody know of a harry potter community or anything where you can advertise your own harry potter site? But we have 10, and hopefully growing, the site's very young though only a couple days, actually. PS All canon means that all the characters are from the books, which means there are no made up characters |
