I like IrfanView and Photoshop also like this nifty little free proggy - DeKnop (dutch for "The Button") is a graphics editor that is designed to let you create 3-D buttons for your web site without requiring any graphic design experience. http://home.hccnet.nl/s.j.francke/deknop/deknop.htm |

I think Photoshop is the best. You can do ALOT of things with it, alot more than paintshop PRO.

I think that The Gimp suits most of the needs for web design. In addition to this, it is free and runs on several platforms.

Close but not quite, as a trade off for its cheap price, PS Elements must have to do with fewer features and smaller number of support than a full-blown Photoshop. Photoshop 4 has even more features the PS Elements 2.0 If you're only into cursory image editing, then Elements is right for you. But I suggest you get PS-CS to expereince the whole thing.
