Google makes it easy again. Now you have an instant translator.
Send a message in one language and have it instantly translated into another. Just add a translation bot to your contacts using the following format: [from language]2[to language]@bot.talk.google.com. Well.. the bots dont speak.. you can put in a text and the bot translates it for you.. another good option is Babelfish for translating..
