Buffalo Help Has Requested I Create a Guide for playing the Army system Some old guides are: 1. http://www.trap17.com/forums/newbies-army-...pros-t9620.html 2. http://www.trap17.com/forums/page-1-t20638-s0.html 3. http://www.ipbgaming.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=29 Out of all the guides guide number 2 is the best. However, a lot of types depend on the settings. The first guide (guide 1.). Is probably best for the first army system on trap17 but probably not the best guide. I am going to start with some basic stuff and then will probably later present some tips as I learn more. However, remember this game is simple and just go try stuff and have fun. 1. Picking a Race The first thing you will want to do is pick a race. When you click on the army system link: http://www.trap17.com/forums/index.php?act=army you will see the words pick your race bellow as a sub heading of the table with the heading Army system. To the right of where you see pick your race you will see a drop down box where you can click to on to select your race. Bellow you will see the bonuses of each race. If you are going to play the game a lot by far the best bonus is income bonus. However, if you are making the most money you are going to get robed the most and if you can’t spend the money before getting attacked you are going to lose it and the income bonuses will be no good to you. Force bonus is the combination of your attack and defense bonus. If you spend your money equally between attack and deference this will overall benefit you more then specializing in attack or defense. However, being an attack specialist can help break though the defenses of the richest players and being a defense specialists can allow you to better protect you money so you don’t have to be playing all the time to spend your money. Covert bonuses such as spy and sentry are useful because they are weighted the most in the ranking scheme. A strong spy bonus can allow you to sabotage, however being able to sabotage might not be useful later in the game if possible at all. 2. Playing the game The goal of the game is to build a strong army in all four areas. Attack, defense, spy and sentry. The most well rounded army will probably be ranked the highest but might not make the most money. You can buy spy and spy tools so you can see other peoples money and if you can beat them or you can attack with one attack turn and get the same effect. However, this will waste more attack turns and it will make it hard to find the people with the most money to attack. If you win an attack you will take about between 50-100 percent of the persons money provided your army size is the same size or smaller then them. You will win the attack more often then you lose the attack if your attack bonus is bigger then their defense bonus. However, if the bonuses are close there is know guarantee as there is a random component. To increase your attack bonus, by more weapons, to increase your defense bonus buy more armor. You can by your armor by clicking on the link that says armory, filling out the form and pressing the button that says done. This post has been edited by s243a: Aug 28 2005, 03:17 AM |

Growing an army and making money In order to build a strong army you are going to need soldiers, troops, weapons and tools. To buy those tools you are going to need money. You get 50$ per soldier and 1 or 0 dollars per mercenary (haven’t checked yet). To get more soldiers you have to increase your unit production. If you click on the link that says training: http://www.trap17.com/forums/index.php?act=army&CODE=11 you will see a link that table titled “upgrade you unit production”. If you click on this button it will increase the amount of soldiers you get every time interval by one. Currently soldiers are updated every 15 hours. Another approach to getting money is by attacking people. If you need more soldiers you can buy mercenaries: http://www.trap17.com/forums/index.php?act=army&CODE=13 You may not want to buy to many mercenaries early as a large army size can hurt you ability to make money if certain settings are in place. For instance there is a setting that can be set where you get less money for attacking smaller armies. There is also another setting that sets the maximum and minimum size of the army you can attack. Often in army games you can only attack armies 3 times or 1/3 your size. |
