Bypassing the bin

Right click on recycle bin and choose properties
In the Global tab check the box that says "do not move file to R..."
no more taking out the garbage.
be careful you cannot restore the deleted files

Removing the BIN

XP offers a very clean desktop except for this one icom RB
Ypu cannot remove it by just deleting it or through any menu options
In the registry editor goto and delete this data

HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION
\EXPLORE\DESKTOP\NAMESPACE{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

restatr your computer and recycle bi will no longer be on your desk

instead of deleting a forementioned code you can alternatively change this code ie
645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E to 1 at

HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION
\EXPLORE\HIDEDESKTOPICONS\NEWSTARTPANEL.

YOU HAVE JUST DELETED THE ICON TO DELETE FILE FROM RECYCLE BIN ie TO EMPTY IT GO TO C:\RECYCLED\AND DELETE THE FILES
THANK YOU

It's so whacky that you can't click the Customize Desktop button in Display Properties...I always thought that you could get it done through there.

Well that is pretty cool but I wouldn't reccomend it. You might accidently delete something you didn't mean to and it is gone forever. But I guess you could buy the software that gets it back for you but it costs money. Is there a way you could change it back so that it is there again? I don't see why anyone would want to hide it anyway. It not that big of a deal and it isn't too hard to empty it. Oh well must be other reasons.

Also, Rooting around in the Registry is not a good thing for inexperienced users to do. My reccomendation: Offer us some text that we can copy and paste, and save as a .reg file, so that it will be quicker and safer for the uneducated. See the last line in my signiture.
