Bravehost really isn't all that great. I tried it and you don't get much. For their freehost there are ads, not a very good control panel, not as many features that you would get here from trap with Cpanel and Fantastico. It was good for me at first because I was a noob to making sites but once you get more into it Bravehost really isn't that great. Of course this is only my view on their free hosting I haven't tried paid.

for those of you who are considering using the free service at Bravenet, have a look here to see what you don't get with their free packages. No Mysql, no php, no subdomains, the list is pretty long... 50 megs storage and 1.5 gig bandwidth only... I'm not even considering them. Service and features are too good at the Trap.

wow. bravehost is really bad. everywhere where there is a bravehost ad, it always says that they have free php enabled hosting. but in truth, bravohost only offers that in paid. if you want simple free hosting, go with freewebs. if you want cool/advanced hosting, go with trap17 or astahost. thats what i know about those simple webhosts. and by the way. trap17 DOES have a competitor. ZEEBLO (http://www.zeeblo.com). i wouldf probably consider zeeblo as trap17's worst enemy cause just look at what they have. but i like trap17 better cause u get to know ppl and not just host a site.

no php no mysql the list of features not included is ridiculous. Just stick with trap17. Post for host is the way to go oh. i concur 100%!!! there are about 5-10 worthy free webhosts out there and without ads. the good ones give you free hosting for about a year and without ads so if you still want hosting at the end of the year, you would have to pay about 6 dollars a month or so to continue. but is is WORTH IT! google "free web hosting" and you can come up with a list yourself. do your research and fin one that fits ya. trap17 has always filled the criteria for me. they aren't asking you to pay one penny towards web hosting, they have the majority of all the toys you would normally ever need. all they ask is you post an average of 1 post a day for all the goodies you get including a free top level domain name. if you post 1 post a day, it DEFINATELY takes care of your hosting account and after a year, you should be able to afford that domain name for 250 credits. bravenet used to be a VERY good service and i used to recomend them HIGHLY like i do now for trap17. but that was 10 years ago when they offered great tools and services. i would NEVER get hosted there. their hosting always sucked. their tools and services can be found elsewhere and better ones. they cannot compete now. all they are doing now is living off their good reputation and name....and i will never take that away from them because they have an impecable name and reputation. unfortunately they aren't keeping up with all the new services and tools offered like before |

Most of them fill your site up with so many adds that they burn straight through your allowed bandwidth. then they give you so little that you cant even let many people view it. That is very bad for people like me that have websites designed for many viewers. I play World of Warcraft and have a site that is for my guild, it states my rules for promotiona and also shows the faces of the leaders and the like. I would always exceed the bandwidth by like the 10th of each month and be blocked for the remainder of the month. This site has the most bandwidth alloted without having ads posted all over the site. I doubt you will EVER find a site that is so easy to use as this 1, at least not without paying money for it |

Zymic (www.Zymic.Com) is a good webhost too. PHP, mySQL etc... And no ads hehe I have a ton of sites hosted there.
And I was wondering if anyone knew a good site to get a .Com domain name free? -reply by Beam |
