i think the best way to get a top level domain is simply to go buy it. Yahoo was selling them for 2.99 at one point. Why be so cheap? just pay the 3 bucks!

domains are so cheap these days if you are half serious about your site you would just pay the couple of dollars or whatever it is and buy one. there is no such thing as a 'free' top level domain.
