If you have an Invision Board forum you could try out the invisionarcade, it's pretty cool, it's used on IPBGaming as well (www.ipbgaming.com)

but once you get it you can download alot of free scripts from

A lot of online games do top scores so you have something or some one to compete against. I think that when you aren't challenged, you don't do your best. So if your playing a game by yourself and your not playing against another person, it gets boring quickly and you don't try hard and do well. I think that you would try and do better than your best if your competing against some one to be better than them at that. Just like in school, sorta, you wanna try and get a good grade. If things weren't graded, you might not try as hard and not even do it.

I'm not sure what kind of games you're looking for, but www.miniclip.com has a bunch of games that have high scores. There's some games in each category, too, like in Action, or Strategy, or Puzzles and things like that.

EDIT: Erm...I just realised you want the games to be playable through your site...as to that, Miniclip doesn't have those games, but some of the games that were from other sites can be downloaded and uploaded onto your site, you just have to follow the links to the original site.

Yeah. miniclip.com has some good games. There are many sites out there that have fun games. You can find a lot of fun games out there.

I've never seen any point in encouraging a high score system in any games. It's a little out-dated and seems arcade-esque, but I guess some people like the retro-gaming perspective.

I haven't seen many good ones that don't require paid membership. too many poeple spam or cheat the system. Many games that have this feature have it disabled very soon after. If you go to crazymonkeygames.com, they have a sister site that scores. Hope that helps.
