I'm trying to begin a new website and looking for anything to enhance it and to bring in that extra traffic. A forum is something that has interested me and is what I strongly want in my website. Since I've already wasted my money on other programs, I'm finished in paying for services like forums and guestbooks. Does anybody know of any good, Ad-free forum services that are free of charge????
Also, does anybody know of any websites that offer free password protect!!! |

Keep posting here and the services of the Trap17 Hosting will allow you to create a Forum of your own and directly under your control. No need to be dependent upon the Free Forum services.
That's my opinion. Good luck with it. |

For the moment, you can try to apply for the trap17 hosting for you to get the forum. If your forum ever grows to be a bustling community, you can then consider to go into paid hosting which will definitely put your site on a more stable platform. For traffic generation, you can go into link exchange with other sites, put your website into a site directory and also most importantly, submit your site to search engines.

I totally agree. Go with a personally hosted phpBB, which is a completely free forum software with tons of free mods and add-ons. It's a much better way to go than with a free hosted board elsewhere. (Like invisionfree) Simply because you can edit everything yourself and make your forum do anything you can make it. Whereas, other hosted boards you have to rely on simple wimpy Javascript and html.
No PHP or HTML editing. Javascript and CSS, and that's it. phpNuke is a free CMS, too. Cms is Content Management System. I believe it's got a built in forum software also, but I don't remember for sure. And remember, with Trap17 hosting, you can have all these automatically set up with nothing but two clicks. |

Yeah, trap17 is a great host for forums, i have my forum on here and it works flawlessly, as others have said you can edit all files, you can access your databases, the list goes on and on, but having this power can also ruin your forum if you arn't careful

You mean a Forum-Hosting service? i bet you dont want a standard hosted forum, generally those have many feature limitations and are so slow. Also the web host doesnt give you a ftp server, and instead you get a Browser based File manager that are reeeaaal slow. You can always keep posting here and apply for webspace on Trap17, you get no-ads webhosting and with Fantastico you can install free forums software like SMF and phpBB. (if that was your question..) About the password protect thing.. i think not many Free web hosting services offer that feature, but you should go to a free web hosting directory and search for one that have that feature.. (but usually the one who gives you that, have lots of other disadvantages, like ads or PHP not supported) |

It is a really good forum, with everything you need, it is easy to use and install, and it is free without any ads. It guess it has all you need. If it don't they have a page with add-ons, and new designs. Good luck Krille |
