You probably have seen this somewhere, but Register.com is giving free domains for one year. That's right, all you got to do is click the following link, make an account, and there you go free domain.

Here' s the link

http://www.register.com/promo/acquisitions...rkID=SEMJ78Vw4W

The only catch is that you must use the domain for a small business I guess, but I don't think they'll check to see if you are using it for the right purpose.

And yes I did already get myself a free domain biggrin.gif

A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

First thing I noticed was the "A $35.00 Value".
Does that mean the second year cost that much?

Xistodomains.com is only $7.99/year.

Are the Domains transferable? Can we Admin the Nameservers?
And what's with the referral in the link?

I tried to sign up for one it says you need a credit card and be the decision maker in your business. I guess they only want to give it out to people with money to pay for the following year that blows.

Yeah, that's if you renew with them. All you have to do is make sure you turn off the auto-renew form when registering. Also, if you decide to continue with them, then it is $35 dollars for the next year. You are allowed to transfer the domain after 60 days, and push it to an another account. DNS services are included, which is why it's a lot, but no privacy. And (You mean Xidomains.com right?) is much better with price. I've registered 3 domains with them, but I just wanted a free domain for a year biggrin.gif
As for referall link? That's not like a referall link to give me money or anything, you can either Google this "Register.com Free Domains", and the second or third link should be that.

Yeah, you need a credit card but they will not charge it the second year if you turn off the auto renew option.

You don't have to pay. If you followed the steps correctly, you will be charged Zero dollars. You just need a credit card so kiddos don't go around registering domains with them. And junk? Uh... I've tried this and it works, I've gotten a domain with them, so I don't know what your complaining about?

They give a domain name that will last only for one year. But, what happens after that? Will you be able register again this domain with the same name, or you need continue registering new ones. If this work in this way, it is not actually convenient for people

OMG, quit complaining about this being a false topic. I already said that it worked for me, and I have been using the domain for a couple of days now. it's the Hostbid link on my sig, that's the free domain. Since, everybody thinks this is so difficult here are some steps, geez. And use the edit tool next time, Don't double-post!

1. On the homepage select the domain you want, make sure it is a .com/.biz/.net/.org/.us/.info
2. You'll go to a new page, click on "Register My Free Domain"
3. Sign in to your account, or create a new one. Click that your domain will be used for a small business. It doesn't have to be, but that's what they wish you'd use it for. I already contacted them about this, so no need to fuss about it.
4. You'll continue and go to an order form page, where they'll put 9.00 for privacy. Remove that from the cart, and it'll say
Domain 0.00
5. Put in your C.C for verification, and make sure you turn off auto-renew so they will not charge your C.C after the year is over.
6. That's it your free domain is there.

Here's an FAQ

QUOTE
Are DNS services included
Yes, DNS services are included.

Can I transfer the domain

Yes, Like all domain registrars, you have to wait 60 days before you can tranfer it or push it to another account.

Why do I need a credit card

So they can verify your age, and for people who are not knowing, so they can auto-renew their domain. Just turn off auto-renew and your good to go.

Will they charge me for things I didn't pay for?
No, Register.com is a big company, they will not scam you.

I don't have a credit card

To bad, this offers not for you. Use a free suddomain until your old enough to get one.

And this is not a false thread, SO STOP TELLING ME THIS!!! I was just trying to help you out
