If you go to

www.alienware.com

And get their free desktop themes, they are pretty cool. ONly thing is that their WIndows media player skins are only forr 9.0 and not for the new 10.0.

Yes alienware has pretty cool desktop themes, with their new computers they deliver a tool called AlienGuise which allows you to fully change your desktop, but when you download it it doesn't feel like it would feel on a real alienware computer! tongue.gif

Do these work only on Alienware computers, or on any random Microsoft compatible computer. Also, do these themes take up any extra resources?

They work fine with my computer, and kmine isn't an Alienware pc. Also, it doesn't take that much room up. And if it does you can always delete it.

Those aren't bad, but I've seen much better. Try doing a google search for desktop themes, and you'll find loads of them that look just as good or better than alienware's.

Then download style xp to configure the themes to your computer. There's other programs that do the job, and I think it's possible to install them manually, but I've found style xp to be an ace program for the job.

EDIT:

Is this true? I haven't noticed any performance issues with my custom themes....

I always stick with the default ugly theme since I find that they're the most efficient.

Dude, Microsoft has slicker versions of the ugly theme available for download. It's pretty much exactly like the ugly theme, but it has a sleeker look to it.

Haha, I hate default dumb themes, I found them boring, and when I get my Vista. (YAY) I will probably delete the default theme and head elesewhere to do this.

Anyways, buying stuff here is totally difficult, I should live in the USA or Japan. xD

But god, why URUGUAY? I mean, it haves an insultive name.

Hello,

Thanks Forbez
for that link to the alienware site. I never knew that there were such goodies for download there.

I personally like the mediaplayer skins I am going to downgrade my mediaplayer to version nine just for those skins. those skins are really Sick man ( sick meaning cool )

I would al;so like to add to you another site that has been very helpful in providing me with various themes and logon screens.

Do check out
