You can get a free credit report from AnnualCreditReport.com or https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp . Federal law in America states you have the right to receive a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies: Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. No credit card is needed, however, they will ask you personal questions to prove that the right person is accessing the account.

(Don't go to freecreditreport.com. Despite its domain name, it's not really free, and they want your credit card information so they can enroll you in some sort of fraud watch program.)

Well what makes your think that this website is any different? I would rather get my credit report offline and that way my personal information isn't spread all over the place; granted that the three credits reports have their own website I know my credit score is a nice low number laugh.gif. Anyways I went to the FTC.gov site and interestingly enough they recommend this site since it goes through all three credit reports, but it is kind of pointless to check your credit score unless you bought a house or a car, or took out a huge loan for it ti register anywhere. However, I find it interesting that when a person wants to find their score they can only do it once while hte banks, auto dealiships and anywhere else can access your credit report any time they want, but again I odn't have much of a score to begin with so it don't bother me.

when it comes to credit, i don't trust anything online! its better to go to the bank and actually talk to someone because it could be a scam and its better to know that your information is safe with the bank.
