You can Store Music, video and photos in this free 25 GB space provided by StreamLoad.com
The best feature is as you upload your files into your account they are automatically categorized into sections as PhotoShare and MusicLocker. You can also stream your videos and music from your account. The only drawback is you've a monthly download limit of 1GB. Get your free 25 GB account at mediamax.streamload.com |

The 25 GB was the main attractiion to this topic, and when i saw the 1 GB limit per month, i was very disapointed, if i download a movie or a game, that is it!
That 1 GB limit must be taken out or else they will not have too much "clients" nor users nor visitors. Anyway, thanks for sharing, if i did not download many movies a month as well as software, i would use this service, in the meantime, i'll keep using rapidshare.com and sendspace.com . |

I think if the 1gb limit is taken out they are also gonna take off with the whole server... I mean, they would need a LOT of space if the services get well known... could you imagine two thousand people uploading 25gb? They would sure have difficulties. This limit gives them time to earn some money and pay for better servers
But I think 1gb is still good. Not if you want to upload a thousand musics or a game but I could use it to make some backups of nescessary files of mine |

The 1Gb download limit ruins the whole thing, if you do manage to upload 25GB of data onto their server, it is going to take you over two years to download it again. This sounds like another one of those things where you have a huge amount of space, with some limit that makes it very hard to use all of that space. That means that almost all of there users aren't going to use 25GB of space, so they don't have to have large servers. It reminds me of the 1TB email account, with a 10Mb attachment limit.
It is not really worth it in my opinion, I am going to stick to storing data on other computers in the house that have larger hard drives. |

if you can upload 1000 GB but still can download only 1 GB what difference it makes anyway, it does not make any sense to me other than a way of attracting people , so this 1 GB limit limited for a period of time i guess ? and some one just mentioned an email account having 1TB ?? but with a 10 MB attach limit ?

i think its a good service because the amount of time it would take to upload 1gb youd robably get bored and stop there anyway so you can download everything a month. id still personally refer to get removable storage devices like DVD's though. You dont risk it suddenly being deleted by trigger happy admins, and you can use a DVd without the internet. Its faster etc...etc...etc...

Besides the fact of rapidshare and sendspace are better then this one, in my opinion, this 1 GB limit makes things hard to register and use this free service because if i have only 1 GB of traffic per month, i prefer to use my pen/flash drives which one have even more, i have a 2 GB pen/flash drive that cost me 35 euros, and today, any computer has a USB port to use the pen drives, and also to use other USB type connection devices, not only pen drives or flash drives, you can even use a portable drive with 80 to 300 GB, i have one portable drive, which is very small, and it has 80 GB, and i take it to work and to other computers i use.
Today, if this kind of free services want to succeed, they must have and offer huge amount of space and BW, or else people in europe and north america (where most internet users are), will prefer to use their own flash drives or portable drives (this ones have much more space capabilities). Of course, to share big files like movies, games and software, they will still use rapidshare.com and sendspace.com to actually share, pen/flash/portable drives are not meant to share files like this, still, if someone wants to share their files through their pen/portable drives on their computers, there are also free and not free programs for that purpose, as a matter of fact, i do that, i share files, with my friends only, with this kind of programs, it is like a server like apache that you install, which is very easy and quick to do so, and after a couple of minutes, you can invite your friends to download files through your computer, you just need to give them your ip adress, static or dynamic, and you even can configure a cool subdomain with the same program or with, for example, a free dynamic DNS tool like DOC No-Ip (http://no-ip.com or .org), but there are other quite good as well and free too, and others you do not even have to install any tool. The programs i use are: Easy File Sharing Web Server (shareware, worth your money! You can also create subdomains, as much as you want, instead of giving your friends your ip number which can change if it is not static.) http://www.sharing-file.com/ and www file sharing pro (shareware, not as good as the above one, still, it is always updating and inproving, but you decide, try them to see, i did!) http://www.wfshome.com/ Today, this kind of free services, even rapidshare and sendspace will disappear in time, people will use their own computers to share files, it is just a matter of time, the big problem now is the BW one had to pay for if one wanted to share big files like movies and games, that is why people still use rapidshare and sendspace, nothing more.
