About This Page

This page is NOT the personal page of Nobuo Uematsu and is not created by Nobuo Uematsu or Squaresoft. This is a Nobuo Uematsu fan page created by me, Michael Huang to honor composer Nobuo Uematsu's work.

Who is Nobuo Uematsu you asked? Well, if you ever played any of the Final Fantasy series on Snes, playstation or Sony Playstation 2, then you have the privilege of hearing his great musical compositions. Nobuo Uematsu's innovative use of harmonization and enchanting melody is one of the reason Final Fantasy stand out from the normal mundane RPG crowd and raise the standard on video game music. Nobuo Uematsu has even been credited by some to have been the one who changed their views on video game music.

I remember the first time I play Final Fantasy II (IV) I was blown away by the soundtrack. Throughout the game, from the prelude to the final battle, the music just got better and better! For the first time in my life, I actually wanted to listen to music on a video game! Just when I thought things couldn't get any better, Nobuo out-done himself again in Final Fantasy 5 and in the critically acclaim Final Fantasy III (VI). I thought I was alone in my obsession with Nobuo Uematsu's work, but when I got internet connection and looked up his name I soon find out that I was wrong, Nobuo has millions of loyal fans world wide who has been equally touched by his music.

Nobuo Uematsu has greatly influenced my life! He is the ONLY reason I decided to go into studying music, I am what I am today because Nobuo Uematsu.

If you're reading this, Mr. Uematsu, I thank you for sharing your music with the world and I thank you for giving my life direction. I wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors and I hope that you never stop writng beautiful music!

NOBUO UEMATSU, IN MY OPINION, IS FINAL FANTASY.

Glad to see another Nosuo Uematsu fan out there! I have to admit, however, that I have never heard his music from the early entries of the FF series. Then again, the first FF game is played was VII. At that time, the music was pretty good...then with every FF game after that, the music quality improved dramatically - meaning that it sounded less like it came from a computer.
