E-filing Tax Returns In India.

This information i am posting here is specific to India and not any other country. Other countries might have a different options and policies... Even other ways.
So.. if you are not in India.. You might have to skip this post. But then if you are interested to know these things you are welcome to read ..

Just thought this might be of some use to all.
This is regarding filing your income tax returns online. I do not know if i have sent this link already.

The above site (Government operated) is where you have to file your returns.
Process is so simple and everything is online and easy. Also.. it helps you know things and do it on your own with little learning (now that everyone started earning... time to know these ).

Process (as carried out by me...)
1. Create an account (You need a PAN number. Your ID will be your PAN number)
2. Sign in... and select a proper form (ITR 1 in our case.. for individuals who do not have any other income.)
3. There is a tool (specific for the form...ITR1 - can be .xls/.pdf) you can download and fill in all the details for that academic year and finally it generates a XML file.
4. Just export the XML file online in your login... and have the confirmation form. Save the tool too along with the details in your system. You can use it the next year without much changes.

7. he he... no more steps. Its done.

There are few more things to care about. All details are explained in detail in the site. So.. you won't get lost.
Also.. the returns filed online gets processed quickly compared to manual filing and the status too can be checked online.

Make sure you go through the materials and stuff provided for various people in the sits for better understanding.
For other investment and other options.. you might not find stuff here.. so browse for other online materials.
