What is it that you need to do? I use Macromedia Dreamweaver, an awesome program, If its just websites you want to make, why not use Microsoft frontpage or Serif Web thingy...

If I were you I would go with boxer text edit it does HTML.The bad thing is when the trial runs out you have to pay for it but I found a way to by-pass that first you wait to the time limit runs out then you click ok after it gives you a page to pay all you have to do is click the x one the top right hand corner then you get to use it for free BUT the time limit goes up every week from like 20 seconds to 25 then 30.Well I hoped I helped. ^_______^

there are a lot of such programs, dreamweaver, frontpage, adobe golive, all of them are expensive.
There is a very good free one, Nvu, which is based on mozilla, very simple yet feature rich, www.nvu.com, try it and you won't regret. |

Personally, I use MS frontpage to help me make my sites, but it screws up your HTML so you have to edit it yourself... I think you can do a google search and you will get pleasing results! Actually, you can also go to www.thefreesite.com as it has a lot of webmaster tools! Alternatively, you can use frontpage express, although I don't know if it exsist anymore!

I think the best replacement for Dreamweaver is Dreamweaver itself. But if you don't want to pay for it than go fo NVU (www.nuv.com) . It is free and very easy to use. You have wrote that you have downloaded HTML-KIT . If you are happy with it than it is OK. It is good software but I want to tell you one thing , in HTML-KIT you have to write down the code by hand. It is not like Dreamweaver or NVU which are WYSIWYG editors. A very good handwriiten-code html editor is 1st Page (www.evrsoft.com). I am saying it is better than HTML-KIT is because in HTML-KIT there is no in built help. Only online help.
Now it is up to you . |

If you go to tsware.net, they offer a very nice script editor for free. All you have to do is register it and then it wont display any pop-up things. It's the best script editor I have worked with and wouldn't switch unless a product could absolutely, without a doubt, provide proof that their product is better.
WebCoder 5 is, by far, the best free script editor around. I know, I hunted the net for a free editor and have tried many different products. They were all lacking some key feature or pestered the hell out of me with ads. This is just a suggestion, but it's deffinately worth checking out if you want a free editor. |
