isnoop.net used to have a page for giving away free gmail invites. I thought it was a pretty neat idea, till Gmail Product Manager asked them to shut shop. Anyway, we'll debate about that elsewhere; for the moment, some of you might find other parts of the website interesting. Not sure if this is the right place to post... but I'm hoping some people might find a couple of things useful/interesting.

Oh.... I can see that now Gmail invites are getting harder to to deliver to people out there...
Those who have Gmail now are very lucky... I was wondering if isnoop.net can just shutdown because it's now doing nothing already... The owner still have to pay for the webspace and domain for nothing... Sad case... |

I don't know if anyone who owns a gmail account feels the same way I do about this situation, but your potential gmail invites are pretty much infinite. If you have ever given out a gmail account recently (from your available 50), then you know that they come back less than 24 hours. Therefore, I really don't see the big deal about somebody making a service that dispenses gmail invites.
Totally ridiculous if you ask me.... |

QUOTE(snlildude87 @ Jun 9 2005, 12:22 AM) I don't know if anyone who owns a gmail account feels the same way I do about this situation, but your potential gmail invites are pretty much infinite. If you have ever given out a gmail account recently (from your available 50), then you know that they come back less than 24 hours. Therefore, I really don't see the big deal about somebody making a service that dispenses gmail invites. Totally ridiculous if you ask me.... I think I agree with that. There are way too many does-anyone-want-a-gmail-a/c-please-email-me messages going around. (Just google 'free gmail invites' and convince yourself.) You can always get an invite if you want to, you just have to look around. However, I don't know what the situation was like when isnoop started its service, although I think I see why Google is unhappy with it. I thought it was a neat idea, with reference the script they used to automate the process of pooling invites and handing them out - that's the way it was, if I remember right. Well, so far, I have no problems with the rest of the site Cheers! |

Yeah, it is pretty ridiculus. I was wondering if that happened to any other people (the invites coming back) other than me. I don't really send that many invites to anyone, so it doesn't matter to me.
Oh, and now about that site: It seems to have some pretty cool tools. I may take a look at them when I get the internet reconnected at my house...Anyway, thanks for that link! |
