Wait cant you do that using the ftp?? just clear the files... just a suggestion if the admins dont do it for you.

the ftp name is simply your website name. but you need an ftp program to use it. or u can use IE ftp://yourname.trap17.com, but IE ftp is slow and *BLEEP*.

The site for FTP is ftp.yoursite.trap17.com. You use your default cPanel user and password unless you have changed the FTP settings. Hope this helps. smile.gif

Download CuteFTP or SmartFTP or some kinda FTP program. They work and simplify uploading and deleting stuff, actually you can use the CPanel to delete a whole forum for you, in AddOn Scripts of Fantastico, it will delte those automatically. And actually the FTP Browser on your Control Panel is easier at deleting stuff than most FTP Programs are. Just a tidbit for ya. wink.gif

Each directory in public_html is empty; i want to install coppermine or phbb into the root but cannot as something else already is...why is this?

Just use a ftp soft ware & upload all the files to the Root directory (public_html)
Then install it
If it couldn't work change the definety of "Pulic_html" to 777
