You can never go to a chat site anymore! Without like wierd people and sex offenders. I go to this chat site and out of no where 10 people try to send me pictures. It was really wierd. I heard that cops and other law enforcement go onto chat sites and act like teenage girls. They tell them the adress and when they come they get a very bad suprise! I hope all of those se offenders get tossed right into jail. Has this happened to anyone? Has anyone tried it to you? Thats why I stay away from chat sites I stick with A.I.M.

Online predators are a HUGE issue right now and several major Chat services like Yahoo! has begun to save chat logs and IP addresses to track down any suspicious activity.

If you want to meet other people, the internet is not a good option because people may not be what they say they are.

The best option, is to go to your nearest mall... and chill

When I first started using the internet chat sites were alot of fun. I actually loved to make new friends through the internet. I met in real life only a few of them. Even then there were issues with predators but not nearly as bad as it is now. Its actually scarry how horrible people can be now. Its sad that the chat rooms have lost their innocense. I don't really go to chat rooms too often anymore. Most of the cool places I used to go to anyway are boring or lacking of anything now a days. I mostly chat with my real life friends online now. Pretty silly but alot of my friends are too busy to get together with me and/or too far away so this is the perfect media for us to keep in contact.

I do have a chatroom on my site, but it's for people that i know and have talked to before. That's how I prefer to talk to people online, It's better than IMing because more people can get involved. It's a very scary idea to just go into a major chat site and chat with strangers to make friends or whatever. If you aren't chatting with some perverted old man, you are probably talking to a police officer!

There's been a lot of coverage lately on Dateline about catching online predators when they show up at the "kid's" house. It's amazing- in a bad way- how many people they round up each time. And each show is only in one geographical area. It's terrifying to think about. If I ever have children they are never going online without me sitting right next to them.

Well i don't know how you people will react on this but till now i haven't chated on chat sites like yahoo or others.
I started using internet for my school projects..

I used to find cool stuffs on sites with forum and thats how i an only into forum sites now..

My real life friends think i'm wierd ,cause on my yahoo messenger also only 3-4 people are there and that 2 are my professors and others also real life friend :-) but thats how i am can't help it..

Yes i've also heard of all wierd things happening on net,also now-a-days i get to see some news like girls running away from home to meet their chat lovers in other states.
