Yes, this tool is absolutly great, just simply the best in everyways!
The name of this tool is: "GGSearch" and this simple, but yet, a very powerfull one, has tonssssssssss of functions for people, that usually use all or at least some of the google services (free or not), to use the google services, and for the ones that don't know the other powerfull and free google services/tools, google doesn't have only a search engine (well known by all), no, it has lots of more free services that millions of people are using and thousands more are starting to use as i right down this topic. First let me say that after i installed this GGSearch, i noticed that it only takes a litle bit of RAM (random access memory), and i say this because this is one of those tools that after you try, you will certanly use it forever and all the time (configure it to run with windows startup because you will need it all the time). Another thing that i should say is that this tool can minimize it itself to the taskbar where you can (and you must) right click in the taskbar button (it has a google icon, i mean, an icon with the letter: "G") because then it will appear tons of menus with tons of cool and very usefull functions to configure and to use. Now, let's get to the point, after you install and double click in the desktop icon, it will appear a search box with a combo box where you can choose the google services you will like to use, so, just click in one of those services, for example, just to mention a few of them: - Google Directory - Google Groups - Google Blog - Google Images - Google Translator - Google Stocks - Google News - Froogle - You can also choose to use some of the google advanced operators (links, info, allintitle, allinanchor, allinurl, etc... (but this is for advanced users that know how to use the google advanced operators) - And 10's of them more, just right click in the taskbar icon of the program and you will find much more usefull functions wich you will use for sure. After you choose an option of the combo box, you just have to enter the keywords you want in the search box and click enter and your default browser will open with the google service you have choosen with the keywords you have used, isn't this great or what!? One more thing, after two days of installing this great tool, it already informed me that my version wasn't the latest one so it asked me to update the program, so, just add the "constant free updates" function to the list. Home page: http://www.frysianfools.com/ggsearch/ Download: With help files too: http://www.frysianfools.com/ggsearch/ggsearch3.8.zip Just the program: http://www.frysianfools.com/ggsearch/ggsearch3.8.exe Don't miss trying this excellent tool, i think you will miss a very powerfull and very very usefull tool, that you just can't miss. |

hmm.. is that the new google offline search? Where you could do your searching offline? I heard alot of about it lately from like news site and stuff. I just don't know how that will work. Do they just download the data and save it on your comptuer or what?
well.. it would be great if it support searching your computer files. because current file search for window xp is kind of suck. Microsoft is promising to include a better file search engine on your computer in their newest window.. window longhorn. =P |

I would like to make a note that although it may use Google search API, the programs and scripts on that site are not supported by Google. Therefore, every of its users should use them at their own risks.
I think this tool is the same as Google Toolbar. They basically does the same functions, that is searching. Now Opera and Firefox browsers comes with a direct search function and you don't even need any google tools. It plays with the URL to make google search for you. Probably this application looks something special because it is an application by itself, not integrated into the browsers. But what's the point of searching for webpages from a foreign application when we can just go Google.com to do a search on the browser. We wouldn't know if that program might bring spyware or other unwanted materials, which it seriously looks quite possible to me. Anyway that's a good share.. |

This tool is awsome, i really don't understand why you're so afraid to install this program on your computers!
If i have created this topic with this tool is, obviously, because i know for sure that this tool is very good and very usefull, and certanly that it also doesn't have any spyware, virus, adware or whatever! If i say is good and a "must have tool" is because it really is, and why, because before i say somjething like that iallways test the program on my computer to be sure that i won't give the wrong information in my topics. So, just install this tool because, at least, you will al LOVE IT! Note: It doesn't matter if the program was made with the google programmers team, because the most cool tools, programs about and for google services weren't made by them, was made by other people. |

Is that the same thing as the Desktop Search tool by Google? Or is the desktop search tool now integrated with this? I'm not sure if I want to give it a try, because last time I installed the desktop search tool and my computer crashed (probably too many resources), and shortly thereafter I was replacing the hard drive. I'll probably check it out, though, before I install it.
