Good links - thanks. For anti-virus protection, however, I prefer AVG Free Edition. Oh, and I did try AntiVir.

Don't forget OpenOffice. It really has all of the functionality (Excel/Calc, Word/Writer, PowerPoint/Impress, and even some database tools) of M$ Office but for free. I just started using it but have not had any problems. I've been really impressed with it. I highly suggest giving it a try if you have not already.

I like that software but i prefer: zonealarm and mcafee,google toolbar(popup blocker) and microsoft antispyware/ad-aware 6 pro

for firewall i just know VNfirewall is a best windows fire wall i 'd not like the zonealarm it's too large for using.it's wasting lots of memory. and i think the sygate is not fit for the personal users.
