I have been using Dreamweaver for any web based design. Every once in a while do head to the code section and change appropriately. That should make you in full control of what you are doing instead of Dreamweaver adding some additional headers onto your HTML document. Or if you want, like what tehyev, use notepad. You have full control of everything, and every single line of code is done by you.

Any links or something? I'm lazy to google it... smile.gif

I would say notepad is the best free html editor, its so flexible, you can do anything with it, and that its available anywhere! And darran, I doubt dreamweaver is free anyway, if its free I'll be the first one to grab it! tongue.gif

I am not sure if where I found this one, but it is loaded with features, like colour coding based in the file type, Projects where you click one button and multiple files open, include your own defined text snippets, many many features I don't use yet.

well i wouldn't have a clue about any free ones but it doesn't sound too bad, but dreamweaver is still the way to go i think. any body know if theres a slicing/coder program so i could just start off with the psd or the jpg and the just somehow code it simply? becaause at the moment it's a real big task going to photoshop then saving all the images, blah blah blah......

Actually the best free HTML editor is the Eclipse IDE with the web plugin since if you do stuff besides basic html, you can also get a php plugin, css plugin, etc. thus allowing you to develop web applicaitons of multiple languages easily and for free.

Hi!

I prefer Kudaz! It's a real cool web editor which supports 53 languages, for example HTML, CSS, C/C++ and Pascal syntax. It has auto correction for misspelled tags, one can insert predefined tags for auto completion. It also has a list of tags which one can insert by mouse klick for easier designing html pages. Another feature is one-click-preview, which means you can preview your designed website by just one click. It's a very fast editor because it is small and doesn't contain any useless stuff. For easier management of the source files it has an file explorer. Another feature is the possibility to export files in the tex-format which I think is really cool!
You can download it at Download

I hope you'll enjoy it! smile.gif

Greetings
