A cheap AND decent 256MB card? I think you'll have to wait another year to find one, but you could try www.newegg.com. They've got some good deals computer hardware.

But if you can manage it, the 256MB Nvidia 6600GT is a very good graphics card for $199. Depending on the other specs of your computer, you'll be able to run most new games at it's highest settings or close to it.

So you looking for a 256mb for less then a 100 heh? try ebay or something cause pretty impossible untill theres like more releases of better types. But you can get a Ati Radeon direct x 9.0 compatible thats 128mb for $80 at www.outpost.com . Or if you live in the bay area of california they have the store of outpost.com.

Just get a cheap 128MB one. For my old PC, I got a eVGA Geforce MX4000 128MB PCI graphics board for $10! It works great for the games that I play such as PristonTale and Guildwars. Its a great imporvment over integrated graphics.

get a 9800pro 128 mb. it's alittle over a hundred bucks, but gives around 70-80fps in cs:s on most areas of most maps. you can overclock it too.

The 9600 is and old card now and I would consider it slow. You have to look at the speed and the number of pipelines of cards too when you are buying and not just the memory on it. I would also recommend a GF6600GT for a little more.

From high-end spectrum there is a really good deal on Fuzione GeForce 7800GT 256Mb for $440. To get a GeForce 7 for that money was impossible about 3 weeks ago but now its open for everyone, so people with decent budget and requirements to an AGP should consider it.
