I think you first need to touch-up on your english. A raid array is when you have identical drives which hold identical information. In case of a crash at least one of your drives will still contain it's data. You must have a motherboard which supports sata-raid - I think. I hope that helps.

You can also place a special RAID card in your computer.
With the built-in on tha mainboard , you can only configure RAID 0, RAID 1 (and sometimes RAID 0+1). With the special RAID controller, also RAID 5 is possible. Also a software RAID is possible , but this is slower then a hardware RAID. RAID 0 is the most secure , every thing is on both drives. RAID 1 is the fastest since the data is spread over both disks. RAID 0+1 is a combination of the above. RAID 5 is with at least 3 (identical) drives. |
