Open source anti virus is just opening the floodgates for spam and hacks. Anything like this would be an embarrasing blunder.

I don't know any kind of open source AV. But you can try a freeware AV: I use Avast! antivirus and it's very powerful.

Does it make any sense having an open source AV??
Coders could easily create virus for it. On the other hand, brains all over the world could contribute to create an unbreakable antivirus!!! |

Try http://www.avast.com and download the home edition.
Its one of the safest AV I have ever used, It has a regular update for its library, sometimes whole program updates, and it blocks out 99% of the virusses and worms at first contact, they cant even harm your PC Yea, I know it sounds like a cheap commercial, but just try and see. |
