Hi guys..first, i would like to sorry for if there are any similar topic as this one.

I alway wanted a really active and interactive forum and of course.. make money off it by putting ads (even though i don't really understand how google pay you ... either by clicks or impressions. i just heard that they only pay you for clicks, not impressions)

Ok .. lets get to the point.

i really want to know how to make an active forum. Like what kind of topics should i have. How to make them come back and post. i want a forum so that they could replace it with myspace =P. My have my own blog system that came with the MKportal i installed.

One thing i'm trying to stay away is to have illegal topics on the forum. I know some forum where there is so many illegal topics.. but then they have thousands of members. And all of the members are active.

Dedicate your entire forum to ONE PARTICULAR topic. And you will have to start many interesting Threads and target them in such a way that readers will die to put in their own opinions. Which will ultimately lead to more registrations.

well,making money by google adsence is a popular way now but if to hot you forum with many illegal topics to attract member to be active is not a good idea.
umm...at first you should tell your friend whor online usually,to rich every forum section together.then you should go to other forum to show your site,your good layout.the best way is to exchange your link with other masters.more and more members will visit your forum by the link which located others website.

i really want to dedicate my forum on school and community. I want to have a section for each club at school, but then i don't think there are that many people would interest in such subject.

Currently i'm hosting my forum for a group of people that are planning an event for our community. There are about 13 group members.

hmmm....well since it is school thing, you would have to target the school community and thats a big community to hit, my suggestion would be to talk to the heads of the school clubs and tell them about your idea, the teachers might think its good, but the students thats another story of convincing them to join and using the forums to communicate and i mean the people that don't fall into the geek and nerd squads.

But of course you can put so much stuff on a forum it awesomely rediculous thats could suit to everyones needs. But like OpaQue said you need to focus on one subject and since its school you have like alot of them. So best thing to do is talk to people about your idea and of course present them with it as well so do up the forums that would list all the school clubs and sports and then see where it goes from there.

Make the forums less structured, too many forums can really take the feel from a true community away.
