Zymic is a fairly decent host with a good amount of bandwith and storage available and is ad-free. It has a simple cPanel and does not really offer a lot of advanced features, but you do have PHP and MySQL with 5 MySQL Databases and Accounts available. They only allow one FTP username though, but all of your hosting accounts are linked to your Zymic account. They have PHP Safe Mode on though, so you might have some limited PHP features. I do not know about support because I have not really suffered much downtime and haven't needed it. You are able to have unlimited hosting accounts and you are able to use your own domain. A another feature they have that is pretty neat is PHPMyAdmin. I believe they are a good beginner's host or for personal websites. I am using it for a personal signature gallery to host my signatures without worrying about size as much. Service 8/10 Support ?/10 Features 5/10 Overall 7/10 I love it being ad-free and having a lot of bandwith and disk space, but features just truly lack. Trap17 is awesome all the way, except for the not so high bandwith and disk space for 10 credit accounts. No biggy though. |

Oh my! I cant believe someone already posted about Zymic... I found out about their hosting about 1 month ago. I think i got to say is be careful! Just Dont go and upload your site their YET (if your site is any important)! Zymic have favourable bandwidth and space but i think they are going to change that space very soon because already a lot of people have started hosting there and the server uptime is is slow compared to trap17. But i would love if they would stay the same and wouldn't have slow load time... Zymic is a great website and i would love to see this website turned into a good hosting providers! Right now, its hard to rate their services as it would be pointless doing so anyway! after 2/3 months, if they are still online (with same specs), i would give them a 9/10 |

Heck I remember when they were just a script/template resource that I use to visit from time to time, sadly I was a bit disappointed when they dropped those sections because they had some good stuff. Yeah I can find it in other places but with what I was looking for at the time this was the place to go.

well, i have previously used 110mb.com, and my experience with them wasn't exactly beautiful, either. one of my lifetime goals has always been to create a website community. one where everyone at my school will come flocking to see. so anyway, i naturally begin searching for hosting. free hosting (i really don't want to pay for something when there are free equivalents). i went to many sites which are dedicated to reviewing free website hosting, and on many of them 110mb was the 'top site'. so i went to 100mb, and got hosted, thinking it was the best. when i started making my website, the first thing i noticed was that their file manager was absolutely awful. i uploaded my files in pure xhtml and css, which had been validated. when i used the file manager to go back and edit some of my files, all of that structure was gone! i could barely recognise my code! i don't know if they have the right to change your code to suit their site, but i wasn't all that pleased. ok, so i finish my main pages (from that incident on, i refused to use the file manager for editing files), and decide to set up forums. i ask around for an ipb licence from my friend (who works at invision), he gives me one for a minimal price. i set up my forums, and their setup seemed to go fine. however, when i went to access my forums, they looked awful. why? because 110mb had decided to provide "free" mysql databases (at that time, they had advertised them as free) for a "free" sum of $50. forums became an impossibility, along with many other things such as blogs. not only that, but they had also disabled the php sendmail function, so my contact form wouldn't work! obviously needing a new host, and being quite worked up over it, i came across zymic free hosting. and at first, their hosting seemed like a dream. free mysql, 2gb storgae, 35gb bandwidth, their file manager and site were absolutely great to use, and great looking tongue.gif HOWEVER their free hosting was imperfect in two ways. 1) php safe mode could NOT be disabled, which made trying to skin my forums , as well as trying to make my blog or my contact form work, a chore. 2) despite thier claiming of 98% uptime, my website was down 50% of the time! my users began to complain, and pretty soon my email inbox was almost FULL (almost all 5gb space used up). MY mysql databases were almost never mine, because they never seemed to work either. on top of all that, i could never connect to my site via ANY ftp client, although on their site they encouraged you to use an ftp client. this was because their file manager couldn't even perform simple tasks such as unzip&upload (where you upload an archive, and it is unarchived for you. this is very useful). panicked, and my users frustrated, i found trap17. thankfully, trap17 was my salvation. |

I've also used zymic. At first I'm like Woah 2 gb space and a lot of bandwidth...and they allow you to get many hosting accounts in 1... but... well it's down a lot.......the ftp for some reason can't stay connected long either.... And I got called an obnoxious individual on my first post because of a phpmyadmin problem, which I didn't see posted anywhere else (even though it was) so I gave up on these guys... It used to be all about space for me, but now I'm realizing something like trap17 with 'decent' space and good features and a CpAneL and all that is turning out way better.......... |

Replying to AlphaOfDoom Erm... Right so it looks like zymic are good but I just tried to log in to edit my site and got this ZoneEdit DNS services for this domain have expired. To reactivate service for ZYMIC.COM, log into your account and add credits. Thank you for using ZoneEdit So it looks like zymic need to get in gear and add their credits, cos I've just moved from hostsnake because of ads suddenly appearing on my page, and now zymic is playing up? -reply by clew |

Hi, Just thought I'd express my views about Zymic.Com I've been with Zymic since December 2007, and so far I am pleased with their free service. They recently increased their disk quota to 6GB and bandwidth is now 50GB, however like others have said, limitations are rendered useless if the service does not function correctly. Yes they have had problems, but the problems have usually been rectified quickly and you can ask for updates via their forum or live chat, they don't keep you in the dark. That said recently I have been happy and there haven't been any major problems what so ever (apart from some issues with PHPMyAdmin). Their control panel is simple to use, and I like the fact you have an "outer account" to manage all of your websites, instead of having to signup again and again whenever you want to create a new website. They also have a choice of subdomains, including .Zxq.Net, .Zzl.Org, etc, unlike many free hosts which only let you use site.Boringlonghostname.Com From the looks of it they are also upgrading their platform and control panel with many new features, so its nice to hear that the service will always be improving. Zymic has been around for 5 years now, although their free hosting was only released mid last year, you get the sense that they won't vanish into thin air like most hosts, and they have the backing and finance from their other projects too. My conclusion: Despite problems arising from time to time, things are always improving and I'm proud to be a member of their community. Their service features are among the best in the "free" industry and best of all there are (and will never be) no ads. -reply by Petr |

Ive been using Zymic for 2 weeks. I do like the space, bandwith and the mysql DB's. But one think I dont like, is that its awfull slow, I barely could run a small forum. But they do have nice and friendly support and admins, for sure. And its ad-free! But I dont know if your ads are allowed I would give it a 7.5/10 - optiplex |
