to set up your ownweb hosting company first you mustfind a web host or dedicated server company that you can add aliases to or sub directorys
then you muyst build or make your site (i use dreamwever and frontpage)
then you must get your own domain name and mailbox for your mail
then you upload you files to your server or reseller hosting company and away you go
thats the easiest wey to set up your own webhosting company

Thanks, but you also need a lot of cash though.
If you are to host many peoples websites, you have to be ready to take risks.

It aint always thinks works out, and you risk loosing a lot of money.
So I'd say building up important contacts around the web is important too.
but it's not always easy to do that...

Nice topic, very useful smile.gif

yeah, it sounds simple, but in reality it's a lot harder than this.
For example, when it comes to problems, the blame is all turned to you. You're the one who's responsible for your hosting.

It's down to your personality. If you're a person who wants to do it and is prepared to take risks, like mentioned above and you have enough money to lose then there's no problem in doing it.

In fact, if you're to start a free hosting site then I wish you all my luck!

I offered hosting ages ago and it was a polava!

I think you forgot legal issues. I guess you need to register as a business before offering web hosting, donīt you? and very probably pay taxes.

erm ... that are actually two ways to make your own web hosting company ... one is buy a reseller account and resell the web hosting to your own customer ... this is by far the most convenient way to start your own web hosting company ... most of the famous web hosting company start their business this way ... the second way to own your own web hosting company is to rent a space from datacenters ... and the third way is to use your own computer and buy a lot of RAM and harddisk and get a stable connection .. you can run your web hosting company using your computer!!

I wonder how it all starts out first. DO people have like servers at their home or at companies? lol. I bet it must cost alot to maintain and execute a company. I would like to do it but i don't have the financial Bucks to do it. I wish I did because it could be a good hobby for me to do.
