Pushing the power, the black light turned to green
Red squirrels ran round on their expercise wheels
I’m sorry to wake you, I felt rather mean.
They must have been stumbling and stomping on heels

Because the tower made a horrible sound.
It sizzled and fizzled and sparked and sputtered
Grinding and cranking, maybe they were bound
To revold one day, but why then? Why now? I mumbled and muttered

When this paper was due in just a few hours?
I promise I won’t keep you on late at night
And I’ll even pick you some lovely pink flowers
Just please work, do this for me, I pleaded outright

But the thing still whirred, and the screen started to go
On-off-onnnnn-off the giant eyeball blinked
You’d better behave, or else out the window
You’ll make no more noise. And that’s the last the light winked.

Don’t make me come in there! I shook my fist and cried
But alas the computer had already died.
