Other Hosts That We Hate

Simply put, this place rocks. But i'm sure most of us have been hosted by places that haven't. So, here's your opportunity to vent all you want about how utterly useless and crappy they were/still are.

Here's the lists of former hosting companies on my eternal blacklist:
Tripod: utterly useless, even for a newb. Too many ads, too slow
Distanthost.com: my former favorite webhost...until they started with this crap about mandatory ad-clikcing. And then collapsed into a fiery hole of embezzlement and bankruptcy (no kidding there, either), leaving me with no good host for my site...for 6 mo.!
Shyper.com: I was just there last week. I had them hosting me for a few weeks...then they delete my account without any explanation, and leave me cold. I didn't violate any of the TOS, bend or break any rules, or use up too much space/bandwidth. they just deleted me. So, they must die.

yea freewebs! always down! so anoying!

I hate those free website providers which put adds on your sites...like tripod...
When I searched for a host who allows php & mysql I ran into Frandt...it was horrible, slow and always down so I never visited it again!
And then I found Trap17 and haven't searched anymore..

I used to have a site at clubhost, it worked fine for a feew weeks. But all of a sudden they took down my site without giving any warning or reason. The crime? having one link to the website of a freeware game.

FreeWebs is aniother bad host. They make you wait just to start using most of the features and that is not right.

I used to try with almost other hosting free , but all them always have problems ! I like trap17 althought it bit slowly !

wow... it sounds like a lot of people have had really bad experiances with freewebs. I'm glad I didn't decide to sign up there. I just thought of another host that I dont like, and it has a name very similar to freewebs. In fact, that might have been it.
I also remember hating freeservers.com. My FTP never worked with them when they did allow it, and because of my former web design program, I was left up the creek without a paddle.
any sites that require ads must die.... that and 200 posts to join!!

I hate GeoCities, but that's because they apparantly don't offer much bandwith. When I hosted there, my site was constantly down. And I'd have to wait for about an hour for it to come back up, then 30 minutes to 2 hours later, it was down again. I didn't keep my site there for too long, since it WAS at one time getting a lot of visitors.

Tripod.com - too much pop-ups and banners.
Narod.ru - super low speed.
Freeservers.com - delete everything.
There are also a lot of bad hosters but many people like their service

000k.com is a really bad host, i applied for hosting and never got a reply from them even though i followed the rules and used an isp email. and freewebs sucked too, because you have to place that stupid text link at the bottom of each page just for their crappy plans. Luckily i found trap17.. hope to get hosting soon
