It not only offers you 1 GB free, but you can see after you register (don't need to be activated by email adress link) that it is even better then windows xp interface, it has so many cool functions that perhaps, in the future, people won't buy hard drives, people will buy virtual hard drives like this one.

I won't say so more, just see for yourself, it is amazing the features it is offering for free, just discover for yourself like i did, it's easy and fun.

I uploaded some files there to show you that we can, in fact, share the files we upload:
http://www.drivehq.com/file/ShowFolder.asp...;shareID=261546

(To download, select the files, and click the download button, but first you have to register in order to download files, it's not all free, i guess that is a small price to pay, but you don't need to activate your email, just register and login.)

--------

To share files, first click upload button, upload untill 5 files at the same time, then select the folder in which you have uploaded them into, then click the share button to share with friends.

Then go to the shares menu, you will see the share link to share with your friends, like i did in this topic.

--------

You can even publish your websites, images, and so on, like a free hosting service, and much more!

And more, because it seems that not one of you have seen how good this this, but let me tell you what they offer more.

They also offer a free program, a ftp client, so you can install in your computer, then login or sign up, then you can upload and download files with that ftp client program, it is very easy, quickly, fast speed, in fact, it's like a download manager too, it is very neat too, see this screenshot that i toke a minute ago after i installed it on my computer:

IPB Image

----------------

This ftp client is awesome, so you can upload your personal as well as professional documents, and share or encrypt them on your virtual encrypted free hard drive on www.drivehq.com, 1 GB totally free, of course that if you want more, you will need to pay, obviously.

----------------

Another thing, after you install the program, the program will create context menus, so when you right click on a file or folder in your hard drive, it will show up a menu named "DriveHQ FileManager" with more submenus, which alow you to select the entire folder, or a few files, to upload imediatly to your free 1 GB ftp account at your drivehq.com free 1GB virtual hard drive.

----------------

What can be better then this!? This is way to good, i tested it all, doesn't have virus or spyware or adware, my computer is very secure, so i would know if this was really in fact malware stuff.

Hope you enjoy this as i am enjoying, just register and login, even that is very fast because you don't need to activate your account by email message link.

It's not being slow with me, of course, it depends on your internet connection speed, but mine is reaching the top of its upload and download speed.

I don't know, lemonwonder, perhaps it is a downtime or they are fixing something now, it happens when they do fixes, upgrades, whatever, the point is that this is going to be very good, they even invested in a program, the drivehq filemanager, so they are not "kidding".

Not too bad, but I feel that Gmail and my 1.2 USB/MP3 player would do the job for me, also to add no worries of the "server/drive" going down on my USB/MP3 player at any random moment.

Yes, arnz, i also use gmail to store files, actually, i use to upload files and then to download mp3 when i am at the computer's work, and it is very good, as i use the gmail drive shell extension, which is free and works pretty well.

Still, with the drivehq filemanager, you have more options, more functions, more features, more stuff in general, and besides, i gb in a ftp account is very good since you can share the files with your friends, with password protection of that link, and the same can't be done with usb or gmail, if you know what i mean.

You do realize that there are no 'virtual" hard drives... Every byte of info is on a disk somewhere... and Your computer itself is customizable especially with 3 major operating systems... and much faster

Very good find, Lyon2, infact I was resently searching for some alternative to Rapidshare and Megaupload. This site will now solve my purpose. Thanx.

Gmail doesnt support resume for downloads and with USB/MP3 player you cant share songs with your online friends.

It seems to be virtual to me from my side. Again I would say with hard drive you cant share with others.
