I like the Antivirus Kaspersky and Avira Antivir..Both are capable to handle the latest viruses.
Kaspersky is the best one.But we have to pay some money for them.
But Avira Antivir Classic is available at Free of Cost which can easly downloadable from their website

PC tools antivirus is quite efficient. You can update the software regularly. It has different modes of operation there is slow an through scan or quick scan. Moreover the removal is quick. The worst i feel is AVG.The resident shield of AVG reduces the flexibility and usage of Windows XP.IT interferes with file copy, opening some exe files etc.

I think the most powerfull anti-virus is BitDefender. Momentaly i have BitDefender Game Safe, you are turning on Game Mode and you PC will work more faster than without the game mode. Btw BitDefender is making your PC veeery slow, but not anymore with Game Mode smile.gif

I gives vote to Norton for the best. but for free version my vote is for Avast home edition. If you don't want to buy you can use Avast home edition it updates virus database automatically, abort connection from malicious websites and many more.

I'd recommend kaspersky when i've had a hardcore nasty on my computer i download the trial version of this software which will usually erradicate the problem. Kaspersky has had a solid reputation for being one of the best antivirus programs for a while now. Although from experience i can say it sometimes slows my system down a little.

I have found Nod32 to be a quick performer, but im not sure how thorough it scans now (it did have the highest scan rate for picking up viruses a while back). From a little research, bit defender is the best antivirus software at this moment. Webroot seems to be reviewed well but im not sure if this is due to marketing or not.

There are a lot of good antivirus that are available at both free of cost and at some price. But when it comes to best I will go with Norton Antivirus 2009 or Kaspersky Antivirus 2009. I have used both these antivirus and both of them are good. I am currently using Norton Antivirus 2009 unlike its predecessors this version is more fast and use less system resources. So the only problem that was available in earlier version of Norton Antivirus is not present in this version.

Now when talking about best free antivirus I will go with AVG Antivirus Free Edition. It detects almost all infected files and easily remove all these infected files safely making your pc virus free.

My first choice would be "ESET NOD32 Anitvirus 4". I guess it is the best: real time updated database, really low level use of system resources, ease of use, safe removal of infected files and .... For me the low level use of system resources really matters because I am a programmer and I have a hell of programing-related softwares running on my system and I don't want my antivirus make my system slow because of checking those programs.

I use AVG 8.5 as my Antivirus... I used to use Symantec, but it sucked.... I use Windows Firewall (pretty sad).....For antispyware I use Webroot SpySweeper and Windows Defender - I'm actually well protected, as far as I know

I use AVIRA. I think it's super effective because I sometimes turn it off because it gets really makulet (pinoy word for persistent) you have to update regularly, don't know how to turn off updates, you have to scan regularly too. So if you're into protecting your computer like crazy, I suggest you try avira. you can get it for free (download.com - just type avira in the searchbar)
