Ad-Aware cleans your pc. Read more about it.
Ad-Aware

I used it for about 2 years and its awesome. It deletes advertising and tracking things.

Spy Bot Search&Destroy does almost the same think as ad-awared. it removes adware files and also can clean your pc.

I've actually used this one before I switched to Ad-Aware. I never liked it! The interface really could use some work and that's only with the interface. This software can mess up your system somthin' fearce. I don't know how many times I've had to reinstall my OS because of this specific software. But it could have just been on of my more unfortunate problems that seem to only plague me. But I thought everyone should know about this bad experiance before taking on this software.

Later...

I have both adaware and spybot installed on my system and I have no problem with spybot so far. And as Bash said both are needed on the computer for cleaning your computer.

I used Adaware 6.0 and it kept finding the same spyware each time I ran it.. so I downloaded Spybot - and it found another set completely different - without fixing my spyware problem.

Downloaded Giant antispyware - it found it's own set and still never fixed the problem.

Downloaded Webroot Spy Sweeper - same deal with same problem once it finished.

Sad to say.. had to pay for antispyware software to fix the issue.

As much as they say they're free - they seem to all be preloaded to find the own set of spyware but don't fix the issue.

If some of you found one worked better than the other you're lucky.. I went thru 12 different antispyware programs before I caved and bought one thru an ISP... that actually fixed the issue.

If you really want to clean your pc i reccomend using Hijackthis and Spybot S&D they are the top programs and yes ad-aware works sometimes too but in my experience 5/10 times it wont remove the spyware even tho it says it does, so i use spybot...1...2...3... poof no more spyware. Also im an advanced user so half the time i remove it manually myself. Spyware is quite the plague tho, my uncles computer had 59 viruses and like a ton of spyware and he could barely browse the net its sooo slow and he can barely scroll cause of the spyware eatin up the cpu cycles and memory but i made short work of that and now it runs like a dream smile.gif

Agreed. You need both for optimum removal success. Adaware has a more user friendly
interface but in the end they both get the job done. Spybot S&D comes with a real time
protector, which is nice.

I dont think that spybot sd sucks. I've been using it for a year now and its removied 98% of the spyware that i had installed on my computer. For the other 2 percent i had to use Adaware. They are both great programs but I recomend using both to get perfect results.
